About the Exhibition ‘LETTERS TO ANDY WARHOL’ centers around five different artistic interpretations of five rarely-seen letters from the archives of The Andy Warhol Museum that showcase his bold ambition and intimate connection to the worlds of fashion, music, media, art and celebrity. These letters inspired six modern-day luminaries to examine their own connection to Warhol’s legacy - much like Cadillac has done - and create a dialogue between the era of handwritten notes and our technology-filled present. This rare glimpse into Warhol’s private correspondence reveals both the fragility and amazing resilience of a brilliant American icon.
About Cadillac and Andy Warhol Andy Warhol was a daring innovator and remarkable entrepreneur and transformed the art world with his creative accomplishments. His work celebrates American life and iconic American brands, like Cadillac. Cadillac was a subject of Warhol’s work, reflecting a universal dream of arrival. This dream was also something Warhol aspired to. His persistence, self-belief and overarching optimism not only contributed to his success, but helped shape him into an American Icon. It’s this bold spirit Cadillac supports and celebrates as the official automotive sponsor of The Andy Warhol Museum.
